Can You do custom chocolate bars for events?

At this time we cannot make custom bars, however, we can fill large orders with advance notice (at least two months). We require notice to be able to purchase beans to make additional quantities of chocolate - we truly are a small factory! Thank you for your understanding.

Are wholesale bars available?

Currently we are not able to provide wholesale chocolate bars. If you are a cafe or Restaurant, and wish to utilize our chocolate in drinks and recipes, please get in touch.

What is so different at Delavoye Chocolate Maker?

We care. That is where we are different from others. We craft quality chocolate over quantity and we care about the process from sourcing to packaging. We also believe in giving back.

Is Dark Chocolate healthy?

Yes, Dark chocolate has many health benefits. It contains numerous nutrients and it is a very good source of antioxidants, iron and magnesium. Dark chocolate can also help to enhance mood, and relaxation and decrease depression. Chocolate also contains the compound phenylethylamine, which is the same chemical released in the brain when people fall in love…. so yes, chocolate is awesome!

Are there milk products in your dark chocolate bars?

Our dark chocolate bars are between 70% and 75%. they do not contain any milk products; however, it is crafted in a facility where milk products are being used.

Can you ship anywhere in the world?

Unfortunately, at the moment, we can only ship within Alberta, Canada. However, we intend to expand our business to be able to ship anywhere in the world. Stay tuned!

Where do your cacao beans come from?

Our cacao beans come from different regions around the world. We currently partner with cacao bean brokers to source our beans. As of right now, we have cacao beans from Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Columbia, Tanzania, the Dominican Republic and Vietnam.

What is the difference between cacao and cocoa?

‘Cacao’ and ‘cocoa’ are terms that are often used interchangeably, yet have distinct differences. Cacao is the raw form of chocolate derived from Theobroma cacao trees, the plant species that produces cacao beans. Cacao can be difficult to source because it has not been processed or heated, so it’s an uncommon ingredient. Cocoa, on the other hand, is made from roasted and de-shelled cacao beans that have been processed. Cocoa is far more common and widely available for purchase in stores and online.
